Taking Time

Apathy, slothfulness, procrastination. How is it possible for all of these attitudes to be represented in character with apparel telling a different story? It would be expected for these gents to be an entire season or two behind when it comes to expressing seasonal trends.

It’s proven here that although one may feel as if he doesn’t feel like doing anything at all, not even keeping a proper posture when seated, that he certainly doesn’t have to dress according to his emotions.

It’s a glimmer of hope. Perhaps one day, one of these guys will come around to doing something…eventually.

Good Sport

The charming face of Dolce and Gabbana dons a few threads from none other than the luxury brand.

Adam makes it look easy to look good during the work-out and after it’s complete…for the day at least.  Working up a sweat isn’t a feat that’s met with reluctance.

He may not be invincible but he has done an impeccable job of convincing us that the standard has a new bar to reach.

Color Heat

Deep to light, rich to dusty.

An array of colors along it’s single spectrum allow pops of their own hues to come alive.    Reds can be smoldering or soft.  Grays can be smooth or steely.  Electric or tranquil, blues are seen in a single ensemble, while yellows can be aged or newly born.

Putting together a look with various shades of one color is anything but boring.

Head Out

Errands?  Lunch?  Meeting?

Whatever the case may be, being stylishly prepared has it’s own time set aside before it all.  A bold statement can be made during the S/S seasons with suits in vibrant colors or pastels.  A bolder statement which shows you really pay attention is providing a contrasting canvas with your accessories such as your belt or tie.

From your choice of carry to your choice of sunnies, being ahead of the game is in your power.

Focal Point

It doesn’t just happen on it’s own.  With all the care and attention given to the threads we wear, one must not forget to give his crown some good attention.

With training, taming and a bit of knowledge, the shining glory may not be what a gent dons, it can easily become what he naturally possesses.

A few models show off some style in their locks accompanied by the products used to get them there.

Strike It Up

Balance is key.

Paying attention to the little things is what truly matters when trying to gain a complete look.  Whether it be color contrast on the buttons of a blazer to strike up anther aspect of an ensemble or dressing up a dressed down look with a pocket square, we see the importance of full execution.

Adding a hint of playfulness into your dress code will bring depth to your look without destruction.  Polo shirts and bow ties which are often shunned for fear of looking like one is trying too hard, are great for turning up a casual look.  Wearing a blazer with attire meant for weekend wear will put a spin on class.

Looking undone at any season is an underwhelming experience and no one should be let down when it comes to style.

Top Tier: Get Some Sole

Level 37‘s  Top Tier pick is Mark McNairy’s Full Grain Chukka Boots.

What we like about this is the texture and the colored soles.  These boots allow you to steal some attention without a trip.

Mark McNairy Full Grain Chukka Boots

How do you make it work?  Try to bring a corresponding detail to the top.  If you want to play-up on texture, bring it out in the look of a chambray or denim shirt.  Even color can stand out.  It doesn’t’ have to be yellow. Instead, try aiming for contrast, a color opposite or a simple sand-hued neutral.  No matter how you style it, these boots can bring you inspiration on how to execute a complete look.

Ready For Battle

Fashion is the armour to survive the reality of everyday life.

- Bill Cunningham

Bill Cunningham had it right.  Fashion is an armor for any time period.  Today, an actual nod is in play.

Luxury brand is a hard impenetrable armor which is not only functional, but beautiful in it’s presentation.  Surviving becomes easier when beauty and protection are hand in hand.
