Head Out

Errands?  Lunch?  Meeting?

Whatever the case may be, being stylishly prepared has it’s own time set aside before it all.  A bold statement can be made during the S/S seasons with suits in vibrant colors or pastels.  A bolder statement which shows you really pay attention is providing a contrasting canvas with your accessories such as your belt or tie.

From your choice of carry to your choice of sunnies, being ahead of the game is in your power.

Strike It Up

Balance is key.

Paying attention to the little things is what truly matters when trying to gain a complete look.  Whether it be color contrast on the buttons of a blazer to strike up anther aspect of an ensemble or dressing up a dressed down look with a pocket square, we see the importance of full execution.

Adding a hint of playfulness into your dress code will bring depth to your look without destruction.  Polo shirts and bow ties which are often shunned for fear of looking like one is trying too hard, are great for turning up a casual look.  Wearing a blazer with attire meant for weekend wear will put a spin on class.

Looking undone at any season is an underwhelming experience and no one should be let down when it comes to style.

Top Tier: Get Some Sole

Level 37‘s  Top Tier pick is Mark McNairy’s Full Grain Chukka Boots.

What we like about this is the texture and the colored soles.  These boots allow you to steal some attention without a trip.

How do you make it work?  Try to bring a corresponding detail to the top.  If you want to play-up on texture, bring it out in the look of a chambray or denim shirt.  Even color can stand out.  It doesn’t’ have to be yellow. Instead, try aiming for contrast, a color opposite or a simple sand-hued neutral.  No matter how you style it, these boots can bring you inspiration on how to execute a complete look.

Ready For Battle

Fashion is the armour to survive the reality of everyday life.

- Bill Cunningham

Bill Cunningham had it right.  Fashion is an armor for any time period.  Today, an actual nod is in play.

Luxury brand is a hard impenetrable armor which is not only functional, but beautiful in it’s presentation.  Surviving becomes easier when beauty and protection are hand in hand.

Watch It!

Whatever happened to a hint of attention and not a shout for it?  A watch can be bold but it doesn’t have to be all color to fit in for the season.   Having a bit of color added to the design of a watch brings a cross between dressy and sporty that allows you to style your wardrobe to fit it, no matter what that may be.

Level37 has chosen some timepieces that will last all through the season from one year to the next.  And at moderate prices, you won’t feel bad about wearing it in any situation at all.

Squared Away

Whether you wear it tucked into the chest pocket of your blazer or discreetly tucked into the back pocket of your chinos or denim, a pocket square is a definite must have for the truly cultured gent.

You may not often find yourself in a situation where a damsel will dry her tears with the luxurious cloth offered to her by your hand, but it tells us that if it just so happens, you’re there as the knight shining in his spiffy threads.

So much function and style packed into a small cut of fabric. Who would’ve thunk?

Deserted

A major trend this Spring is neautral tones.  It’s a great way to provide some relief of the vibrant colors and soft pastels this season.

Be careful how you wear it.  The key is to keep your look soft and simple.  Too many metals can be overwhelming and you don’t want to be mistaken for a park ranger or a safari tour guide.

When something comes naturally, it comes without trying. When you start to think, this ensemble needs a belt, a bracelet, a tie… fight those impulses and remember to incorporate a minimal amount of accessories.  This is how a full neutral look truly comes to life.
